A survey conducted in March 2015 has shown that 49% of Americans have tried marijuana, 12% have used it in the past year and 7.3% have used it in the past month. Medical marijuana refers to the use of the Cannabis plant as a physician-recommended herbal therapy, which is taking place in Canada, Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, Spain, and 32 U.S. states. Which brings me to my entry.
Texas is now in the running for the possibility to legalize marijuana see here ---> http://abc13.com/news/bill-to-legalize-marijuana-in-texas-clears-committee/701479/
Currently in Austin there is a proposal seeking full legalization of marijuana on religious grounds and has unbelievably passed.
Republican state Rep. David Simpson of Longview TX shares his feelings and says "Marijuana comes from God and therefore shouldn't be banned by government. On Wednesday the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee surprisingly voted to support it. There were 3 Democrats and 2 Republicans surprisingly voted to support it and it passed 5-2

My personal opinion... Let's just say I'm not opposed but I don't have high hopes (no pun intended) on it getting past the House. Many Houstonians have already commented on the matter and as of right now its an even split. However here are just a few of the awesome purposes for our green friendly plant that I feel if legalized could possible make medical history:
AIDS (HIV) &; AIDS Wasting
Alzheimer's Disease
Arthritis
Cancer / Nausea
Epilepsy / Seizures
Glaucoma
Migraines
Multiple Sclerosis / Muscle Spasms
Pain / Analgesia
Psychological Conditions
And these are only some of many. I understand and fully comprehend the negative effects if made legal in Texas however as stated above marijuana helps assist psychological conditions such as depression anxiety as well as bi-polar and manic depressive which then will possibly decrease murder rates (don't quote me though lol). As of right now the bill has until June 1st to reach the House floor which is when they take a break. Before I go for those who aren't familiar with how this legal process works here you go step by step.....your welcome.
Peace and Blessings
